Jack White Critiques Trump Administration Amid Feud
Jack White, the former frontman of The White Stripes, took aim at the Trump administration on Wednesday after being labeled a “washed loser” by the White House.
In an extensive Instagram post, White responded to communications director Stephen Chen’s comments, where Chen deemed White’s criticism of Trump as that of a has-been, questioning the president’s character and calling him a “conman” and “low-life fascist.”
“We can’t protect this low-living fascist,” White wrote. He referenced Trump’s business failures, mentioning the infamous Trump steak, vodka, and water. “This man and his group of fools have consistently failed upwards, leaving Americans sidelined in many instances.”
Trump’s Changes in the Oval Office
White’s outburst followed Chen’s critique of his earlier remarks about the new gold accents in Trump’s Oval Office, which White had condemned in a statement to the Daily Beast earlier that week. Chen asserted, “Jack White has been washed away, as the losers take to social media to voice their frustration, showcasing the stagnation of his career.” He added that White was pretending to be a real artist.
White’s criticism was further fueled by his disdain for a gold decoration in the Oval Office, dubbing it something akin to a “vulgar, flashy, golden-leafed pro wrestling dressing room.” He even expressed anticipation for a UFC event supposedly to take place on the White House lawn, referencing Trump’s plans for a significant celebration.
Accusations of Hypocrisy
White’s ongoing feud with the administration took a more pointed turn as he questioned the integrity of politicians like Chen and Caroline Leavitt. “How is this administration maintaining such a pathetic, thin skin? Are you really pretending to be serious artists?” he asked, sarcastically thanking them for the inspiration for his art.
Continuing his critique, White accused leaders of hypocrisy, saying, “He pretends to be a person of faith, a leader with empathy.” He highlighted what he sees as the divisive nature embedded in their actions, calling them professional liars who mask their agendas as patriotism.
Despite acknowledging that he doesn’t typically voice his political thoughts, White felt compelled to speak out against the current political climate, comparing it to the silence of those in Germany during the 1930s.
Chen, responding to the uproar, characterized White’s anti-Trump sentiments as predictable, asserting that such reactions only reinforced the notion of White living rent-free in a “pea-sized brain.”
