Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Pat Mahomes, pleaded no contest Thursday to a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from a February 2023 incident.
Mahomes, 23, is accused of shoving a waiter, grabbing a restaurant owner by the neck and forcibly kissing him in Overland Park, Kansas.

He was sentenced to six months of probation, but the restaurant owner dropped the charges after Mahomes refused to testify.

Mahomes’ attorney, Brandon Davis, considered the dismissal of the battery charge proof that his client did nothing wrong.
“As we have said from the beginning, Jackson did nothing wrong. We were completely confident that the truth of this matter would eventually come out. The defense remained… “We reserve further comment until the charges have been disposed of,” Davis said in a statement at the time.

Before the Super Bowl, Mahomes’ mother Randy spoke about the stress of the “false allegations” brought against her son.
“We put this meadow behind us,” she said. Said. “There were some false allegations against him that eventually came to light, but it was a big deal. We were fortunate that it all got called off because of this situation and other reasons.”
