Jaclyn Smith Celebrates 80th Birthday and Shares Beauty Secrets
Jaclyn Smith, the legendary star of “Charlie’s Angels,” recently turned 80 and reflected on what keeps her looking youthful. At the Paley Honors Spring Gala in New York City, she emphasized that love is far more essential than makeup for maintaining her glow.
Reuniting with her former co-star Kate Jackson at the gala, Smith turned heads on the red carpet while celebrating the iconic series’ 50th anniversary. When asked about her beauty secrets, she revealed, “Living clean and being loved” as key factors.
Smith expressed her gratitude for her supportive family, saying, “I have the best family in the world—an amazing husband, two beautiful children, and three granddaughters. So nothing could be better. It’s all about love and family with me.”
Reflecting on her time with “Charlie’s Angels,” which aired from 1976 to 1981, Smith shared a nostalgic moment with Jackson at the event. She posted a joyous message on social media, saying, “Hello from the Paley Honors Gala in New York! So happy to be celebrating again with our friends at the Paley Center.”
Throughout the gala, fans applauded Smith’s ageless appearance. “Happy 50th anniversary. You are amazing and a part of my life growing up. I looked up to you as a role model,” one admirer commented. Other fans echoed similar sentiments, praising her as a “classic beauty” and noting how she hasn’t aged at all.
Smith admitted she didn’t realize the cultural impact “Charlie’s Angels” would have back when she started. “When I was starting out, no,” she said regarding her status as a style icon. Yet, she acknowledged that the show helped to redefine glamour and women’s roles in media.
Meanwhile, Kate Jackson reflected on the show’s impressive staying power, expressing amazement that it still resonates globally after all these years. “So 50 years from our debut, we’re still here and it’s still on TV,” she noted, while also sharing her transition from Hollywood glamour to a quieter life on a farm in Virginia.
Jackson spoke warmly about her peaceful life away from the spotlight, saying, “I like that there’s no pressure. It’s really great. I have animals, I have friends, and it’s a great way of life.” Meanwhile, Smith’s career spans over five decades, starting as a model and transitioning to acting success, most notably for her Golden Globe-nominated role as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
Smith’s journey through Hollywood has been accompanied by personal milestones, including four marriages before finding enduring happiness with surgeon Brad Allen, whom she married in 1997.
