Tyrese Halliburton has quite a journey ahead following his Achilles injury during Game 7 of the NBA Finals, but he’s got support. His girlfriend, Jade Jones, is with him every step of the way, as she shared on her Instagram story on Monday evening.
Alongside a poignant picture of Jones comforting Halliburton after his injury, she expressed her feelings. “The running I remember forever,” she wrote. “You’re so wonderful!”
During the game against the Thunder, Halliburton had managed to score nine points within just seven minutes before the pain hit while he was making a move toward the basket.
After his injury, Halliburton fell to the court, clearly devastated. His right Achilles tendon was torn, and the Pacers faced difficulties in the second half, ultimately losing 103-91 to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
This was a disappointing conclusion to what had been a remarkable playoff journey for Halliburton and the Pacers. “What a year!” Jones shared on her Instagram feed. “This team is incredibly special. You’ve made a historic impact that people will talk about for generations to come. This season has left a deep mark on my heart.”
Halliburton, at just 25 years old, showcased an impressive performance, contributing greatly to his team’s success even if they fell short of the ultimate goal.
While they may not have secured a championship, Jones believes that both she and the Pacers’ fans will always cherish this playoff run, their first since 2000. “You brought joy to so many with your talent and spirit,” she wrote. “You’re selfless, brave, and strong! With our amazing support system, we’ll get through this together. I’ll always be your biggest cheerleader. I’m so proud of you!”
Fellow Indiana star Caitlyn Clark commented, expressing pride and support. In closing, Jones added a playful note, referencing Halliburton’s earlier recognition as the NBA’s most overrated player, suggesting that perhaps the conversation around that could use some reconsideration.
