Jaelyn Kauf Takes Silver in Women’s Dual Moguls at 2026 Winter Olympics

American freestyle skier Jaelyn Kauf won her second medal at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Games, securing silver in the inaugural women’s dual moguls final on Saturday.

At 29 years old, Kauf, hailing from Colorado, faced the 2022 Olympic champion Jakara Anthony from Australia. Kauf scored 15 points, landing behind Anthony’s 20 points.

This achievement marks Kauf’s third Olympic medal, all of which are silvers. She previously earned a silver in the individual moguls at the 2022 Beijing Winter Games. Interestingly, she also won a silver in the same event just a few days ago.

The dual moguls event, which combines racing and performance elements, has been a part of the Winter Olympics since 1992. However, this was the first time it included a racing format where competitors directly faced off against each other on the mountain, advancing based on the better score.

Completing the podium was 20-year-old Elizabeth Lemley, who recently won her first Olympic gold by defeating Anthony in the individual final a few days prior. Lemley became the first American woman to win gold in moguls since Hannah Carney in 2010, adding to the remarkable history of U.S. women in this sport.

Saturday’s final showcased a strong performance from Team USA, with two freestyle skiers landing on the podium again in this event.

After winning her individual medal earlier in the week, Kauf expressed the significance of the moment: “It’s been a long time since Hannah Carney retired that this team has been on the top of the Olympic podium. So it’s really cool to finally get it and get one and two.”
