Jaguars' Cam Little makes 70-yard field goal in NFL preseason

In a recent preseason game, Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little didn’t have much left to prove as he entered training camp ahead of the 2025 regular season. Heading into his second season with the Jaguars, he had already nailed 93.1% of his field goal attempts, with several from beyond 50 yards, and he maintained a perfect record on extra points.

During a matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday night, he showcased his ability by hitting a remarkable 70-yard field goal, a distance that, if achieved in a regular season, would set a new record. “It sucks,” Little commented on the situation, expressing frustration at not having the distance count during the game. He shared a brief conversation with Dylan Morton, the Jaguars’ senior director of football communications, about the significance of the kick, though it wouldn’t be recorded.

The Steelers ended the first half leading 14-9.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence remarked, “We don’t really expect to kick 70 yards in the first quarter, but if you could get him close to 50, you’ve got a genuine scoring threat. Having someone like that is a real asset.”

Ultimately, the Steelers came out on top, winning 31-25. For context, the current NFL record is held by former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, who made a 66-yard field goal back in 2021. While eight kickers have attempted 70-yard kicks in the regular season, none have succeeded.

“Don’t stress about the record. This isn’t the last 70 yards,” Little advised afterward.
