Jake and Romy Reiner, having lost their parents Rob and Michelle to a tragic murder, are leaning on each other during this difficult time.
They were seen barefoot walking along a Malibu beach on Monday, according to exclusive images obtained by the publication.
Since the horrific incident, Jake and Romy have reportedly shut themselves inside their Malibu Colony home along with friends and family.
Romy, 28, was first spotted in the afternoon, clad in a black hoodie and sweatpants, on the porch of their waterfront house, smoking a cigarette with her boyfriend Alex Silverberg and another woman.
A little later, she appeared again, this time in jeans and a baseball cap, taking a stroll on the beach with Jake, 34, and his partner Maria Gilfillan. Romy made stops to collect seashells along the way.
This sad chapter began about two weeks ago when their brother Nick was charged with fatally stabbing their parents, Rob, 78, and Michelle, 70, at their Brentwood residence.
Romy reportedly discovered her father’s lifeless body at home and called 911 before reaching out to their father’s close friend, Billy Crystal. The grim news about her mother came from the paramedics shortly thereafter.
Amidst the tragedy, Jake is reportedly stepping up to keep the family united, as noted by sources. “Jake has had to take on a more patriarchal role,” one insider shared, adding that his guiding principle is “family first.”
Following his parents’ deaths, Jake received their cremated remains.
Ironically, just hours before the murder on December 14, their parents had attended Conan O’Brien’s holiday party with Nick.
Nick, who is currently in custody, faces two counts of murder for the death of their parents.
