Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight rescheduled for November after boxing legend’s medical scare forces postponement

A highly anticipated battle Boxing legend Mike Tyson After Tyson suffered health issues during a recent flight and the fight was postponed, YouTuber-turned-professional boxer Jake Paul returned.

Most Valuable Promotions announced Friday that the bout, originally scheduled for July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, has been rescheduled to Nov. 15 to give both fighters adequate preparation time.

“Our team worked diligently with all involved parties to reschedule this landmark fight to allow both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson to be fully prepared, have equal training time, and host the event at AT&T Stadium. Cowboys season.” Nakissa Vidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, said in a statement:

“Paul vs. Tyson is the most multigenerational sporting event in history, and we’re committed to bringing fans around the world to this unforgettable night of boxing, broadcast live around the world on Netflix. We look forward to seeing you on Friday, November 15 for a showdown that will be talked about for generations to come.”

Tyson, who turns 58 at the end of June, was on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles last month when I suffered from nausea and dizziness. A statement from his agent at the time said the incident was due to “an aggravation of an ulcer 30 minutes before landing.”

Jake Paul ‘disappointed’ at Mike Tyson’s absence due to health issues, but still ready for fight: ‘I’m always ready’

The medical incident raised concerns about Tyson and led to speculation that the fight might be called off, and last week Most Valuable Promotions announced that the bout would be postponed after Tyson had consulted again with medical experts.

He was advised to “perform minimal to light training over the next few weeks before returning to full training without restrictions.”

“While we had to postpone the fight, I will be resuming training shortly. I would like to thank the medical staff who treated me, MVP, Netflix and AT&T Stadium for working hard to find the best rescheduled date for all involved,” Tyson said in a statement on Friday.

“The date has changed, but no matter when the fight takes place, the outcome will be the same: Jake Paul gets knocked out. Be sure to tune in to watch the fight in person at AT&T Stadium or live stream it on Netflix on Friday, November 15th.”

Paul responded to the X news with a simple message: “New date, same place, same destiny.”

Paul is 9-1 with six knockouts in his professional career, losing a split decision to Tommy Fury in 2023. Tyson hasn’t competed in an official bout since losing by TKO to Kevin McBride in 2005. He took part in an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr. in July 2020.
