Jake Paul made his first public comments Monday afternoon since details emerged about Mike Tyson’s health crisis during a transcontinental flight on Sunday.
Tyson’s representative told The Washington Post that the famed boxer’s ulcer had recurred 30 minutes before his flight from Miami to Los Angeles landed, leaving him feeling nauseous and dizzy.
Tyson and Paul are scheduled to fight on July 20 in Arlington, Texas, but Paul denied suggestions the bout would not go ahead as scheduled.

“You guys love to make up lies before you know the facts for clicks and likes. Nothing has changed.” Paul wrote to X.
The fight will be broadcast live on Netflix and Paul has already said it will bring an end to Tyson’s career.
“But my promise to the nation on July 20th is that I will put Mike to sleep and make him feel my power,” Paul said. “I will go down in history as the man who put Tyson to sleep for the last time.”
The health scare has understandably raised concerns around the match, with social media users calling on Netflix and Paul to cancel the game, including replying to Paul’s tweet saying it wouldn’t change anything.
According to his representative, Tyson is “in great shape.”
The bout also provides an opportunity for other fighters hoping to grab some spotlight, with Ryan Garcia volunteering to take Tyson’s place if he is unable to compete.
“If Mike can’t fight, I’ll take his place.” Garcia wrote to X..

However, judging from Paul’s post, it seems he had no intention of accepting Garcia’s offer.
The Netflix bout is a boxing match officially sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and is classified as a heavyweight bout.
