Jake Tapper’s Critique of Hunter Biden

On a recent podcast, Jake Tapper shared his candid thoughts on Hunter Biden, as he discussed issues related to former President Joe Biden’s mental decline. This conversation took place on Coolick’s podcast, where Tapper, accompanied by Axios reporter Alex Thompson, talked about their co-authored book, “Original Sin”. The focus was on Biden’s struggles and the controversies surrounding his decision to run again.

Tapper expressed concerns over Hunter’s considerable influence within the White House, remarking on the troubling ethical implications of his actions. “It’s strange because I find his decisions to be, well, highly questionable and frankly disturbing,” he stated.

When reflecting on the Biden family, Tapper noted that he had known Beau Biden before his passing and regarded him as a remarkable individual. Beau, he noted, was an established figure in Delaware politics, serving as attorney general before his death in 2015. “Hunter, on the other hand, doesn’t carry the same virtues,” Tapper remarked, explaining that the notion of him being at the helm seemed very concerning.

Both Tapper and Thompson discussed how Biden’s decisions may be influenced by a desire to shield Hunter from potential legal repercussions. Thompson suggested that the relationship between them could sometimes be exploitative.

Interestingly, Tapper had initially been hesitant to delve into Hunter’s controversies during Biden’s first term and had dismissed previous allegations as somewhat trivial. However, by 2023, he had adopted a much more critical stance regarding the administration’s handling of Hunter’s international business dealings.

“At the end of the day, Hunter Biden, it’s pretty evident who he is,” Tapper remarked pointedly. He went on to challenge President Biden’s assurances about distancing himself from Hunter’s activities as the term wound down.

Hunter Biden later responded, expressing his displeasure with Tapper, claiming that the CNN host had pursued him for comments and had even had heated exchanges in the past. This led to a back-and-forth between them that highlighted the tensions within their interactions.
