CNN anchor Jake Tapper on Tuesday criticized Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) to his face for attacking special counsel Robert Hur.

“Congressman, what you are suggesting is that I will shape, sanitize and omit some of my reasoning and explanations to the attorney general for political reasons,” Herr told Schiff. .

Later that day, Tapper confronted Schiff about his “inhumanity.”
“The basic argument you’re making is that by calling President Biden a sympathetic, well-meaning old man, an old man with a bad memory, [Hur] He thought he was going to go to a jury — that it was a political thing. But what part of that structure is inaccurate?” Tapper asked.
However, Mr. Schiff declined to answer that question.
Instead, he claimed that Herr smeared Biden’s reputation by making “subjective, generalized, and inherently political assessments that were fodder during the campaign.” Mr. Schiff repeated his accusations, without evidence, that Mr. Ha was motivated by politics.
“This was intentional. It was as if Mr. Herr decided, ‘We don’t have enough evidence to indict him, so let’s destroy him politically instead,'” Schiff said. insisted.
However, Tapper had no intention of buying what Schiff was selling and used Herr’s own testimony to disprove Schiff’s accusations. Specifically, Tapper highlighted the reason why Hsu did not prosecute Biden, not because of a lack of evidence, but because he believed he could not prevail in court.
Tapper explained:

Part of what he said in his testimony today was that we think [Biden] President Biden has explained things like doing things on purpose, but forgetting, and we couldn’t necessarily fault him for the claim that he innocently forgot. That couldn’t be done. That was another thing he said.
But Schiff didn’t move. He claimed that Huh’s decision to attack Biden was “calculated” and “premeditated,” and that he should have taken political considerations into account to protect Biden.
Finally, Tapper had had enough.
“I just think that [Hur] “We felt we had a special obligation to explain why we would not prosecute someone who we believe actually violated the law,” the CNN anchor said in a fact-check.
Don’t be fooled. Schiff is an experienced lawyer and political gamer.

Mr. Xu told the lawmakers:
The evidence and the president himself directly call into question his own memory. He also said he had no recollection of finding any classified material in his home after becoming vice president. And he did not remember anything about how the classified documents about Afghanistan got into the garage.

Hsu found evidence that Biden broke the law, but had to explain. why He chose not to prosecute. Mr. Hsu came to that conclusion because he believed Mr. Biden would present himself to the jury as a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory” during an interview last October.
