Jalen Brunson from the Knicks may be sidelined for the game against the Pacers

Brunson’s Availability in Question for Upcoming Game

Looks like Jalen Brunson might take a breather. The point guard has been on a roll, playing 27 straight games and logging the most minutes for the Knicks. However, he’s listed as questionable for the game against the Pacers on Tuesday night.

The Knicks have mentioned that they’re managing some issues related to his right ankle and a neck strain. It’s worth noting that Brunson’s last missed game was back in mid-January, and it was a tough stretch for the Knicks without him—losing two in a row due to his ankle sprain.

This season, the Knicks hold a 1-4 record when he’s absent. But, on the bright side, the Pacers, who will be facing off against them at Madison Square Garden, have been struggling this year. With a record of 15-53, they currently sit at the bottom of the league and may be missing a few key players themselves, including Pascal Siakam (knee), Andrew Nembhard (calf), Obi Toppin (foot), and Ivica Zubac (foot), all listed as questionable.

Even so, the Pacers are intent on making things competitive, hoping to improve their lottery odds. Interestingly, they actually secured a win against the Knicks at MSG earlier this season and have managed to challenge them in previous games, including a recent 101-92 Knicks victory.

This match comes during what should be an easier stretch for coach Mike Brown’s team, who has faced several teams with poor records lately, including the Pacers. Despite the favorable matchups, Brown has aired his frustrations about the team’s slow starts. The Knicks needed comebacks against teams like the Jazz, Pacers, and Warriors, and that’s not the approach he wants moving forward.

If Brunson is sidelined, it may compound these challenges even further.

On a different note, Jordan Clarkson seems to be finding his rhythm again. After a solid 27-point game against the Jazz and contributing 14 points against the Warriors, Clarkson has reestablished himself in the rotation—a much-needed boost for the team.

“I’ve been consistent throughout my career, hitting the gym and getting ready,” Clarkson said, reflecting on maintaining his performance despite limited playing time. It’s all about staying prepared, I suppose. Let’s see how it all unfolds.
