Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart Bring Energy to NYC
Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, both stars of the New York Knicks, have really made their mark on the court. Their performance led the team to the Eastern Conference Finals in June, a notable achievement since it was the first time they reached this stage since 2000.
In their offseason podcast called “Roommate Show,” Brunson and Hart dive into their thoughts on reality television, notably discussing the show “Love Island.” They jokingly embrace their inner “real housewives” while engaging in these conversations.
Brunson playfully mentioned that Hart’s catchphrase might be, “I’m just a vibe.” It’s amusing, especially considering Hart’s background as a college basketball player at Villanova, where they won the 2016 NCAA Championship.
Interestingly, Hart admitted he doesn’t typically watch reality TV, but “Love Island” is the exception that has caught his attention lately. In an earlier episode, he shared that while he tunes in, he often finds himself distracted on his phone.
Brunson, meanwhile, maintains a soft spot for the classic “Jersey Shore,” referring to it as one of his all-time favorites. He nostalgically stated he could watch it repeatedly without losing interest.
As for pre-game rituals, Brunson shared that listening to Justin Bieber has become a tradition for him, one he started during his time at Villanova. He’s even been enjoying some tracks from Bieber’s new album, admitting that one of the songs really stands out to him right now.
Tickets for their live podcast taping go on sale Friday. The event, scheduled for September 6 at Central Park’s Ramsey Playfield, promises to feature a lively mix of entertainment, including guests like Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning and comedian Ben Stiller, alongside musical performances.
This gathering is expected to draw in thousands of Knicks fans, reminiscent of the energy in the city during playoff season.
Reflecting on the past season, Brunson expressed gratitude for the strong fan support, noting that while the team’s journey was rewarding, the abrupt end was a downside. He particularly appreciated the interactions with fans, even as he remarked on the challenges faced in other cities.
On their podcast, Brunson and Hart have aspirations to invite major players to join them, with Hart mentioning names like Denzel Washington. They view the podcast as a platform to share their own narratives amidst the flood of media stories.
While Brunson emphasized the importance of players having a voice, Hart humorously pointed out that not everything makes it to air, joking about how a significant portion of his comments gets edited out.
Recently, Brunson and Hart also played a role in leading the Knicks to victory against the Pacers, reinforcing the excitement of being part of such a dynamic team.
“It’s an amazing feeling,” Brunson said. “Having all this support from the city is truly a blessing.”
