Jalen Carter Speaks After Disqualification in Eagles vs. Cowboys Game
Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter addressed reporters after being disqualified from his team’s game against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.
Carter’s ejection occurred just as the Cowboys were about to start their first play. He expressed that he felt “satisfied” despite not fully grasping the circumstances surrounding the incident, in which Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott appeared to spit before Carter was penalized. The NBC broadcast caught Prescott spitting towards the ground ahead of the altercation.
“I was calm,” Carter explained, describing how he left the field without anger. “I really couldn’t do anything. The referee’s decision is final in moments like this.”
He mentioned not having a conversation with head coach Nick Sirianni about the incident, noting that he’d take it up when necessary.
Later, when asked about watching the Eagles secure a 24-20 victory over the Cowboys from the sidelines, he shared, “It was intense for me. I wanted to be out there with the guys, helping however I could. It’s a team effort, and I really wanted to contribute to that win.”
Carter, who had an impressive 2024 season with 42 tackles and 4.5 sacks, is known for his skills on the field. He’s still adjusting to the ups and downs that come with professional football. In moments like these, it’s clear that emotions can run high, both on and off the field.
