Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown talk about missing the Eagles’ White House visit.

Hurts and Brown Discuss White House Absence

Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown shared insights about why they missed the Eagles’ Super Bowl 2025 victory celebration at the White House, citing scheduling conflicts during a Tuesday press conference.

“I just wasn’t available,” Hurts mentioned, adding, “It didn’t feel right. Everyone who went seemed to have a great time.”

Brown echoed similar sentiments, clarifying that his absence wasn’t tied to any political stance. “I had personal matters to attend to that day,” he stated. “It really wasn’t about politics, just family obligations.”

About 30 players made it to the Eagles’ White House ceremony on April 28th, including star running back Saquon Barkley, who chose to golf the day before President Trump did in New Jersey.

In the lead-up to the event, Hurts had dodged questions about attending, but Trump had previously called him “a great guy and a great player.”

The White House attributed Hurts’ absence to “scheduling conflicts.” Other notable players like cornerback Darius Slay and linebacker Zack Bown also missed the ceremony.

During the event, Trump praised the Eagles, and Eli Ricks shared a post on social media about meeting Ivanka Trump, complimenting her appearance.
