Jamie Foxx Credits God, Power of Prayer for Saving His Life After Suffering Strokes

Actor Jamie Foxx credited the power of God and prayer to save his life after suffering a life-threatening stroke last year that sent him to the hospital and a long recovery journey.

In his Netflix comedy special, Jamie Foxx: “What happened was…”, django unchained The star revealed for the first time that he had experienced a “brain hemorrhage that led to a stroke.”

“God is good,” Fox declared in a special broadcast Tuesday, adding: “God is good.” Yes, I appreciate all the prayers. ”

“It's a mystery. I still don't know exactly what happened to me,” the actor continued. “All I can say is I appreciate all the prayers, because I needed them all.”

Fox broke down in tears as she recounted her experience, explaining: [2023]I had a bad headache so I asked my son for aspirin. And my sons quickly realized they didn't know what to do when they had a medical emergency. ”

“He gave his sister terrible news,” the actor continued. “He said, 'He's had a brain bleed, he's had a stroke. If we don't get into his head right now, we're going to lose him.'”

Fox added that while she was in the operating room, “my sister was on her knees outside the operating room and praying the entire time.”

“Your life isn't flashing before your eyes. It was kind of strangely peaceful,” Fox said, later explaining that when Dr. Schuette came out of the operating room, Dr. Schuette had a stroke. He confirmed this and added that he told his sister the following. It would be the worst year of his life. ”

Fox revealed that he finally woke up on May 4, 2023. “Then I woke up and I was in a wheelchair. I couldn't walk.”

“As I said that, I realized why this happened to me. It was God,” Fox added.

The actor then described his conversation with God to the audience, in which he asked: Was it a clerical error? Did Peter write the wrong name? ”

“He said, 'No, this should happen to you.' I said, 'Why?' God, look at all these bad people here, all these bad people. Shouldn't we experience something like this? ” And you know what he said? “Those bad guys already belong to someone else. You're mine,” Fox said.

Fox added that God told him: you are mine Remember when you played the piano in church? When was the last time you went to church?”

“But I said back, 'Well, I get it, I get it, but this crime doesn't deserve punishment,'” Fox said jokingly. “I'm serious, this is too heavy for me. I still make people laugh and entertain. I said, 'But look what this is doing to my family. ,God.”

“I said, 'Look what it's doing to my kids.' And you know what he said? 'I see what they're doing to my kids. You have two beautiful daughters. That was my only child,” the actor said.

“And then finally it came to me about blessings. God blessed me with this talent and all this money and this fame. And when I forgot about God, God blessed me with a stroke,” Fox said before breaking down in tears.

Fox added, “As I get older, I think about those difficult times and wonder, “Who's going to be there?'' Who actually goes there? There's no need to doubt that anymore. ”

The actor explained that while he was in a coma, his vitals were poor and medical staff feared losing him – his youngest daughter Anneliese visited the hospital with a guitar and made a concert for him. I started playing music. That's when his vitals miraculously began to improve.

“My vitals were so bad that they would lose me. Then a miracle happened and that miracle worked on my youngest daughter,” he said. “She's 14 years old. I didn't want her to see me like that, but she snuck into my hospital room with my guitar.”
