Jamie Foxx was injured during an altercation while celebrating his 57th birthday at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills, according to his rep.
A Fox spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the incident happened Friday night as the actor and singer were dining at the celebrity hotspot.
“Jamie Foxx was at a birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass at him, hitting him in the mouth. He had to have stitches and is recovering. Police were called and the matter is now in the hands of law enforcement,” the statement said. read.

Officers from the Beverly Hills Police Department responded to a report of assault with a deadly weapon against Chow on Friday, according to a news release obtained by FOX News Digital.

After arriving at 10:06 p.m., BHPD officers investigated the incident and the report of assault with a deadly weapon was determined to be “unfounded.”
However, the press release states that “this incident involved a physical altercation between the parties.” After a preliminary investigation, authorities recorded battery in the report, but no arrests were made. BHPD's investigation into this incident is still ongoing.

After hosting the Jamie Foxx Strong Black Legend Dinner at Mr. Chow on Wednesday, Foxx was photographed leaving the restaurant. In a video posted on X, he was seen talking to paparazzi and signing autographs.
On the way to his SUV, Fox was asked how he felt about celebrating his birthday after his near-death experience in a medical emergency last year.
“It's so beautiful because I didn't know if I was going to be here to celebrate it,” the Academy Award winner said.

Foxx was also asked about his Netflix comedy special, “Jamie Foxx: What Happened?” In a special broadcast on Tuesday, the comedian revealed new details about the 2023 health crisis.
“What a happy time to be on stage,” he said. “It's amazing how you can go through something so crazy and still pick yourself up, have a chuckle, and let other people know what's going on.”
The “Blame It” singer said he was inspired by legendary comedians George Carlin and Richard Pryor to talk about the ordeal on the special.

In April 2023, Fox contracted a mysterious illness and was hospitalized in a coma for several weeks. During the Netflix special, Fox became emotional and broke down in tears multiple times during the special as she explained to fans how she ended up in a coma.
“I was fighting for my life,” Fox said. “On April 11th, I had a bad headache so I asked my son for aspirin…before I could get any aspirin…I left. I don't remember anything about those 20 days.”
Fox revealed that when he was hospitalized, doctors told his family that he had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and a stroke.

“If we don't get into his head right now, we're going to lose him,” declared doctors at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
After Fox's surgery, his doctor told his sister Deidre Dixon, “We don't know where it came from, but he's fine.” suffering from a stroke. He may make a full recovery, but this will be the worst year of his life.”
Fox continued: “I was dizzy from the stroke…I don't remember anything for 20 days. I woke up on May 4th. I woke up and I was in a wheelchair. I couldn't walk.” Ta.

Fox said that moment gave her a reality check and made her move on from it and work hard to recover.
During the special, Foxx repeatedly thanked fans for their prayers and support.
“Thank you for all the good wishes, Atlanta. To everyone in the world, I can't thank you enough.”
