Actress Jamie Lee Curtis announced Wednesday that she has deactivated her account on social platform X.
she announced her departure “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change. The courage to change the things I can. And the wisdom to know the difference,” the social media platform wrote via Instagram.
Curtis did not say why he was leaving X, the social media platform owned by tech billionaire Elon Musk, but the decision came as many people and organizations reconsidered their ties to the platform. It was held at a time when
Earlier on Wednesday, London-based news organization The Guardian announced its withdrawal from the platform, citing “disturbing content.”
Musk has been named co-director of President-elect Trump's Office of Government Efficiency.
Musk has become increasingly involved in the Trump campaign, raising concerns about what kind of influence he will have on the administration.
After Trump won the election, Curtis took to Instagram to call on Americans to “wake up and fight.”
“Fight for women and our children and their future, fight oppression one day at a time. One fight at a time. One protest at a time. That's what it means to be an American. That is what it has always meant and will always mean, regardless of the outcome.”
