Jana Kramer Discusses Her Husband’s Reaction to Romantic Scenes

In a recent chat about her upcoming film, *The Christmas Ring*, actress and singer Jana Kramer, who is 41, opened up about how her husband, Allan Russell, feels regarding her on-screen romantic scenes. She mentioned that initially, it wasn’t entirely comfortable for him, but she was consistently thinking about ways to make him feel at ease.

Kramer recounted a particular moment involving her co-star Ben Hollingsworth and his wife Nira. They had a barbecue with their kids, which helped create a friendly atmosphere. “If you get to know my co-stars and their hearts and their families, you just… become friends,” she shared, emphasizing how this approach isn’t all that serious anyway.

The film spins a tale about a military widow seeking love while trying to recover a lost family heirloom, a significant ring related to D-Day.

Joining Kramer in this movie are Kelsey Grammer, Ben Hollingsworth, and Jessie James Decker, with Hollingsworth being her love interest. “Ben was amazing; we really connected,” she remarked, noting that working with him felt like a collaborative effort in building their characters.

This isn’t Kramer’s first Christmas movie, and she admitted that when she first looked over the script, she thought, “Okay, another Christmas film.” But she quickly realized this one was quite different from the typical holiday scripts she had encountered before.

“It’s all about getting to know my co-stars and their beloved ones; you’ll really become friends,” she said.

Kramer expressed that while she can’t fully relate to being a widow, she has felt the pain of heartbreak and being a single mother. This understanding, she believes, helped her bring something special to her role.

Excited about the project, Kramer mentioned it allows her to delve into her past, having two children with her ex-husband, Mike Kosin. As for her acting alongside Grammer, she felt the pressure to elevate her performance to match his caliber. “It was like I needed Kelsey’s approval,” she admitted, noting the different choices she tried to implement in her scenes.

On set, Kramer enjoyed chatting with Grammer about his family and his experiences in Hollywood, taking away meaningful insights from him.

She expressed joy in collaborating with Decker, a close friend, in this film. “It’s such a blessing that we got to work together,” Decker told Fox News Digital. “The Christmas Ring is about love, hope, and the magic of the season, and I’ve long admired [screenwriter] Karen Kingsbury. Bringing her vision to life was a great honor,” she added, highlighting how special the project felt to them both.

Mark your calendars: *The Christmas Ring* is set to hit theaters on November 6th.
