Jane Fonda Criticizes Paramount-Warner Bros Merger and “Tech Bros”

Actress Jane Fonda continues to oppose the proposed merger between Paramount and Warner Bros Discovery. This week, she also took aim at “tech bros” who she claims are focused on longevity while trying to push women into “tradwives.”

Fonda, often called “Hanoi Jane,” spoke candidly at the DVF Awards charity gala, addressing various issues, as reported by Variety.

When questioned about her backing of Marvel actor Mark Ruffalo concerning his inflammatory comments on the merger, Fonda argued that the merger “would be terrible for consumers” and suggested, without any supporting evidence, that “thousands and thousands of people would lose their jobs.”

She expressed hope that a strong movement is forming to prevent such mergers and dismissed claims that Ruffalo harbors antisemitic sentiments as retaliatory tactics against his stance on the merger.

A short while later, she directed her frustration toward “tech bros” and “tradwives.”

“Within the global elites, longevity seems to be all the rage. What are your thoughts on that?” a reporter queried during a discussion.

Fonda replied, “They want to live forever, while they’re killing the rest of us.”

“There’s two things: most of these guys, these tech bros and these oligarchs and billionaires,” she continued, referring to her estimated $250 million worth, “they feel that the laws that the rest of us live by don’t matter to them, including the laws of physics. Natural laws. They think they’re going to live forever.”

“The other issue is that since these guys can’t have babies, they’ll create robots. That’ll be their babies. And they’ll just turn the rest of us into tradwives who have a lot of babies too,” she claimed.

She further dove into her theories, stating, “Then they’ll take away the vote. Can you believe it? And we’re not going to stand for it. They’re not going to win, because we’re not going to stand for it.”

Fonda raised concerns about the unprecedented nature of the current crisis, stating, “The big problem is – and this has never happened in the history of humankind – if this was happening at any other time, you could say: ‘We’re going to win, in the end.’ But because of the climate crisis, we don’t have that much time. You know, there’s a point where if it gets too hot. Then there’s no going back.”

It’s possible she was referencing entrepreneur Elon Musk, although her description doesn’t quite fit him. Musk aims to develop robots for menial tasks, yet he also has 13 children with four different women, three of whom he was not married to.
