Jane Seymour rejects the idea that women over a certain age have an expiration date.

The 73-year-old actress walked the red carpet at the premiere of her new film Irish Wish in New York City on Tuesday night and slammed ageism in Hollywood.

“Life goes on and I don’t think there’s an expiration date unless women make a choice,” the “Somewhere in Time” star said.

Ms. Seymour reinforced her earlier statement that aging brings confidence and peace of mind.

“A lot of people say, ‘Don’t you wish you were younger?’ And the funny thing is, no, I’ve had so much experience, I’ve had such a rich life, I’ve had so many friends. “I’ve had a lot of great experiences building it,” Seymour said.

“My life is very full now, and hopefully I’m a little bit smarter than I was when I was younger,” she added.

During an interview with Page Six, Seymour reflected on how she believed she became wiser with age.

“I think it really became the only woman for me,” the Emmy winner said. It was completely different from today. ”

She continued, “I think I really learned to stand up for myself, take risks, follow through, and be myself.”

Irish Wish, set in Ireland, also stars Lindsay Lohan, Ed Speleers, Alexander Vlahos, Ayesha Curry and Elizabeth Tan. In Netflix’s fantasy romantic comedy, Seymour plays Rosemary Kelly, the mother of Lohan’s character Maddie Kelly.

“When the love of her life got engaged to her friend, Maddie decided to put aside her own feelings and serve as a bridesmaid at their wedding in Ireland. A few days before the wedding, Maddie met her true love… “I naturally wished for her to be a bride, but only to wake up as a bride – to-be,” read the synopsis of the movie.

“Certainly, loving touch changes with age and depending on what your physical abilities are, but it doesn’t mean you give up on it just because you’re a certain age.” writes Seymour.

“It’s funny, right now I feel like I’m 16 years old even though I’m so experienced,” Seymour added. “I truly feel that sex and intimacy are better at this age than they used to be. In fact, I do.”

The actress has been married four times. She married theater director Michael Attenborough in 1971, but they divorced in 1973. Seymour was married to Jeffrey Planer for one year from 1977 to 1978.

The Golden Globe Award winner married businessman David Flynn in 1981. The couple had daughter Katherine, now 42, and son Sean, now 38, but went their separate ways in 1992.

Seymour was married to an actor and director james keach From 1993 to 2015, they had 28-year-old twins, Christopher and John.

Before dating Zambetti, the Emmy winner dated British film producer David Green, 74, for nine years.
