Jane Seymour Shares Heart Health Insights

Jane Seymour has always taken an active approach to her health. In a recent interview, the 74-year-old actress reflected on her journey to understanding heart health, describing it as a significant “wake-up call.”

Seymour revealed her personal connection to heart disease, noting that her mother suffered from it and her father passed away due to the same condition. She mentioned that she and her sisters need to monitor their cholesterol and take statins regularly.

“More women die from cancer than men,” she said, emphasizing that it’s the leading cause of death for women. “One in five women in the U.S. will experience a stroke at some point… I think this is a wake-up call.”

She also commented on the impact of stress on health, stating that it plays a crucial role in many health issues. Seymour shared her strategies for managing stress, such as getting enough sleep during filming and incorporating meditation into her routine.

Reflecting on lessons from her mother, Mieke Frankenberg, Seymour highlighted the importance of having a purpose in life. Her mother, who endured significant hardships during World War II, taught her that purpose is key to happiness and longevity.

“Life presents challenges, but if you open your heart and help others, you’ll find that purpose is essential,” she stated, urging people to make conscious choices regarding their health and well-being.

Earlier this year, Seymour talked to media about her fitness regimen. She mentioned maintaining a similar size to when she was a ballet dancer at 17, all while being mindful of her weight. Interestingly, she recalled having to lose weight for a role that wasn’t healthy for her body.

In terms of her daily habits, Seymour explained her unique approach to meals. She often skips breakfast, opting instead for vitamins and fluids in the morning. However, she enjoys a hearty lunch, relishing foods like salmon and Italian dishes.

Staying active is another priority for Seymour. She engages in activities that range from Pilates to light weight training, emphasizing the importance of listening to her body’s needs.

Overall, Seymour’s insights provide a thoughtful perspective on health, purpose, and the choices we make throughout our lives.
