President-elect Trump has nominated wealthy New Jersey real estate developer Charles Kushner to be the next ambassador to France.

The Kushner Companies founder is a “great business leader, philanthropist, and dealmaker,” Trump wrote, adding that he “will be a strong advocate on behalf of our country and its interests.” .

Kushner, 70, who was known to President Trump in industry, was convicted in 2005 of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion and witness tampering as part of a sordid family scandal.
In 2020, Kushner was among 26 people granted full pardons by President Trump.
His son Jared married President Trump's daughter Ivanka in 2009.
In a 2004 plea agreement, Mr. Kushner admitted to hiring prostitutes to seduce his brother-in-law, filming their secret meetings, and sending the tapes to his sister.
