Support for Jasmine Crockett’s Senate Run

Jasmine Crockett’s backers are optimistic about her potential candidacy for the Texas Senate. However, as noted by Blaze TV host Stu Bruguiere, there might be some issues that could affect these ambitions.

“There was a scandal here, there was a scandal there. It’s no big deal,” Bruguiere remarked, getting out of his car, referring to a Washington Free Beacon article titled “Inside Jasmine Crockett’s Secret Stock Portfolio and Her Failed Attempt to Become a Marijuana King.”

The article reveals that Crockett’s stock portfolio includes major companies like Amazon, Johnson & Johnson, Uber, and even some cannabis-related stocks. It also highlights her diverse investment interests.

Crockett reportedly disclosed about $110,000 in debt during a prior financial audit, yet didn’t include that in her initial Congressional financial disclosure for the same year. There’s uncertainty around whether she still owes those debts.

According to her records, she reported debts to Texans Federal Credit Union and Wells Fargo amounting to at least $46,580, along with an obligation to an individual named Ben Babcock between $18,630 and $46,580. It appears the debt to Babcock might be related to a rented home while she was a state representative, increasing over time from 2019 to 2021.

Bruguiere shared a personal reflection, stating, “When I rent apartments and houses from different landlords, their expectation is that I pay the rent every month.” However, he seemed puzzled by Babcock’s apparent indifference toward accumulating debt.

In a recent appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” Crockett dismissed online reports claiming a net worth of $9 million, suggesting instead that he could receive a substantial payout related to a past civil rights case. If it contravenes House ethics rules, he expressed willingness to leave Congress to claim the money.

Bruguiere voiced his admiration for Crockett, saying, “This is why I love her so much. This is why she should absolutely run for the Texas Senate, because she’s the only one who’s honest about this.” He humorously referenced Babcock, wondering about the benefits of the arrangement, suggesting, “Ben Babcock might even give you a free house.”
