As the season kicks off against the Chargers in Sao Paulo, Brazil next week, viewers will likely see only one of the Kelce brothers on their screens.
ESPN has decided against including Jason Kelce in YouTube’s coverage for the International AFC West Clash. A report from Front Office Sports indicated that ESPN has a policy preventing its talent from appearing in NFL games on streaming platforms, which was reiterated on Friday.
Particularly, it seems Jason Kelce, who has been part of ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” in the past, was approached by YouTube for this coverage but was swiftly turned down by ESPN.
This situation has unfolded over almost two months. Reports suggest ESPN is hesitant to let its talent work with other networks, especially with Netflix preparing for a notable lineup on Christmas Day, which includes the Cowboys without Micah Parsons at 1 PM.
Jason, the Eagles’ Super Bowl-winning center, is starting his second season as an analyst and has gained considerable attention through his “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with Travis, who recently welcomed his fiancée, Taylor Swift, onto the show.
As for Travis, entering his 13th season with the Chiefs, there’s already speculation that this may be his last. He had a down year in 2024 with only 823 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
When the Chiefs face off against the Chargers next Friday, Rich Eisen and Kurt Warner will be calling the game on YouTube, set to start at 8 PM.
