Travis Kelce may already be determined about his future in the NFL.
Currently appearing In the “Steam Room” On Friday, tight end brother Jason Kelse suggested he knows deeply whether he will continue his football career or hang his cleats forever.
“I think Travis already knows, perhaps in his mind, what he wants to do,” Jason said. “That's the reality.”
The 37-year-old former Philadelphia Eagles Center worked on the same decision ahead of the 2024 season, so it can be linked to the struggle.
Jason said he spoke with “a lot” about his decision to quit with 35-year-old Travis, but has yet to get a definitive answer from Kansas City Chiefs Star.
“I'm sure we'll talk about it — we've already talked a bit about it — and I'm sure he'll go through the process of understanding it,” Jason added. .
Jason is ready to be the soundboard for his brother, but he pointed out that he “has a variety of ways of thinking about things.”
“Sometimes you can do it method Overanalyze situation…and my brother has this way of saying, “Hey guy, you want to play, or you don't want to play,” Jason explained. “He's going to just say something like that, don't worry about all these little things.”
“And nine out of 10 he's right about all of that,” he added with a laugh.
Travis will take less than a month to decide whether to close his contract with the Chiefs, which will end after the 2025 season.
The organization will need to know his plans by March 14th, one day before his $11.5 million roster bonus comes into effect. NFL free agency for the upcoming season also begins on March 10th, and if Travis chooses to retire, the Chiefs could be in the market for more offensive weapons.
Following the Chiefs' disappointing Super Bowl loss, Travis told listeners for his “New Heights” podcast that he hopes to have time to handle things before he announces plans for next year.
“I'm not making crazy decisions, but for now the biggest thing is being there for my teammates and there for my coaches. I'm sure there's a lot of this to happen. I understand.”
Travis pointed out that 12 years in the NFL have been causing a blow to his body and hopes he will come back when he is in his best mentally and physically.
“I think I can play. I am motivated and that is the best decision for me as a person, as a person, as a person who takes on all the responsibility.”
Travis lies low with his girlfriend Taylor Swift as the world of football waits with concern for his decision.
The couple has been off the grid ever since the Super Bowl, leading fans to speculate about where they were.
It is unclear whether the two collided with a relaxed and much-needed escape, but it is said that they enjoyed a romantic Valentine's Day celebration last weekend.
Sources said Travis had dropped more than $100,000 for the pop star “she lost over $100,000 on gorgeous gifts like roses, candies, gold necklaces, diamond earrings, shoes and clothes.”
“He also wanted to include something special, so he surprised Taylor with his handmade Valentine's Day cards,” says the insider.
