Jason Kelce tells Eagles teammates he’s retiring after playoffs loss

Jason Kelce is calling it a career after 13 seasons in the NFL.

The Philadelphia Eagles' All-Pro center announced his retirement to teammates in the locker room after Monday's season-ending wild-card loss to the Buccaneers. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The 36-year-old future Hall of Famer was visibly upset on the sideline at the end of Philadelphia's 32-9 loss at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

Kelce, who previously considered retirement, is a six-time All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowl selection.

He announced in March last year, “After talking with my wife, I will be returning for another year.'' [Kylie] and many other friends and family. ”

At the time, Kelsey wrote on Twitter (now known as X): “I've thought a lot about whether it makes sense to play another season…Thank you to all the supporters and detractors who have encouraged me. It's not over yet!” ”

Kelsey and his wife Kylie McDevitt Kelsey welcomed a baby girl, Bennett Llewellyn Kelsey, in February of last year, making them a family of five.

The newborn joins big sisters Elliott Ray, 2 1/2, and Wyatt, 4.

Selected by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft, Kelce has spent his entire career in Philadelphia.

In 2018, he won Super Bowl LII with the Eagles.
