Jasper Troy shares insights about his experience with WWE

Jasper Troy’s Journey from Football to WWE

Before securing his spot with WWE’s NXT brand, Jasper Troy, born Antoine Frazer, focused more on football than wrestling. He played college football at Northern Iowa but eventually decided to pursue his passion for wrestling instead. It’s something he considered a lifelong dream.

Troy mentioned to Fox News Digital that growing up, he was captivated by wrestling. “I remember locking in every Thursday and Monday, just waiting for those shows. I was completely hooked on the ‘Smackdown vs. Raw’ video games too,” he shared, reminiscing about playing with friends for hours on end.

As his college football career progressed, he found the sport losing its excitement. “There came a point where football just wasn’t fun anymore, which was really tough,” he said, reflecting on a love that faded after competing for the Panthers.

He recalled late-night conversations with his brother about wrestling, which fueled his interest. However, he felt stuck in football and unsure of how to transition to something he truly wanted. “I think I wasn’t mature enough at the time to adapt to what was happening around me,” he stated.

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, Troy found space to reassess his goals. “It gave me a chance to step back and really consider what I wanted to do with my life,” he explained. Unsurprisingly, wrestling remained at the forefront of his thoughts.

Once he completed his Pro Day, he seized the opportunity and tried out with WWE. The experience reignited a spark within him. “It was like returning to a childhood dream—completely different but exhilarating,” he said.

Now, as he steps into the NXT arena, he’s ready to make his mark in the men’s division and inspire others along the way.
