Javier Milei Visits Kibbutz Nir Oz, Hit by Hamas Terror on October 7

KIBBUTZ NIR OZ, ISRAEL – Argentine President Javier Milei toured the ruins of Kibbutz Nir Oz on Thursday with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, expressing solidarity with Israel against Hamas terrorism.

On October 7, Millais visited burnt-out houses and bloodstained bedrooms in Nir Oz, one of the areas hardest hit by Hamas attacks, where a quarter of the residents had been killed or kidnapped. It was done. Some of the victims were Argentinians.

Millais met with survivors in the community, including Ophelia Roitman, 77, who was abducted and later released in a hostage deal. Before moving to Israel, Roitman was a teacher at a Jewish school in Argentina.

He also paid a special visit to the Argentine-Israeli Vivas family. They were kidnapped on October 7, and the youngest hostage, 1-year-old Kfir Bibas, who is believed to have recently celebrated his first birthday, was also held captive.

Irit Rahab, a survivor of the kibbutz attack who accompanied Milei on the trip, told Breitbart News that she was so moved by what she saw at several stops along the way that she cried.

Millay then walked around the community for nearly two hours before addressing journalists.

As the sounds of explosions from the ongoing fighting in nearby Gaza rang out, the Argentine president spoke of his deep feelings of sadness at the devastation around him, his determination to support Israel and the cause of freedom in general.

Millais said the terrorist attack represented pure anti-Semitism similar to that of the Nazis, and that the free world must counter it.

President Herzog thanked Mr. Mirai for visiting the community and sharing not only the pain that Israelis still feel, but also Israel’s positive vision for peace and prosperity in the region. expressed his intentions.

Breitbart News first visited the kibbutz in November as one of the first groups of journalists allowed on-site. The kibbutz itself had changed little since then.

But at the outer fence, just a mile from the Gaza border, the passage of time was evident. The fields, which were brown in November, had turned green from the winter rains. And in the city beyond, most of Gaza’s buildings have been reduced to rubble after four months of war.

Herzog and Millais embraced at the end of the visit, clearly forging a close bond during Millais’ visit to Israel this week.

Milley ends a four-day visit to Israel on Friday. This was his first official trip abroad as president, and the longest visit by a leader to Israel since October 7, a fact that deeply impressed the Israeli people.
