Javier Milei's 'Presidential Band' Celebrates Charlie Kirk at a Rock Concert Against the Left

Argentina’s President Hosts Concert to Kick Off Campaign

Argentine President Javier Milei organized a rock concert in Buenos Aires on Monday to revive the Free Progressive Party’s campaign ahead of the midterm elections set for October 26.

At the event, Milei expressed his admiration for Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, and honored the victims of the October 7 terrorist attacks by Hamas. It’s estimated that around 15,000 attendees participated in the concert.

The event featured two parts. The first was a lively rock concert performed by Milei and his “Presidential Orchestra.” The latter portion took on a more subdued tone, showcasing lawmakers and allies who performed a rock cover set, all while promoting Milei’s forthcoming book titled The Origin of Miracles, where he outlines the policies implemented since taking office in 2023. He dedicated the book to Kirk.

Dressed in a signature leather jacket, Milei modified some song lyrics to criticize leftist violence connected to socialist groups during his presidency. He also commented on former Socialist President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, who is currently serving a six-year sentence in Buenos Aires for corruption. The concert included parody videos targeting Fernández de Kirchner and leftist media.

You see, when Milei was younger, he actually led a rock band named “Mireiha.” They focused on covers of Rolling Stones songs, along with their own provocative tracks.

This concert was seen as a relaunch of the Liberty Advances political campaign following a recent electoral loss by the ruling party. Issues within the party have emerged, including a corruption scandal involving liberal lawmaker José Luis Espert, who recently withdrew from his race.

Milei encouraged attendees to join a memorial service for October 7 victims, advocating for the release of remaining hostages, including four Argentinians.

“Israel stands as a fortress of the West, and that’s why terrorists, along with the left, are united in their goal to destroy it, which they think would dismantle Western and Christian culture,” Milei stated. “That’s why we support Israel,” he added.

He also addressed the resurgence of anti-Semitism, mentioning the traumatic history of Argentina, including past attacks on Jewish communities. This was highlighted during a performance of the Jewish folk song “Hava Nagila.”

Milei performed a cover of “Libre,” a song by Spanish singer Nino Bravo, with visuals of the Berlin Wall’s fall playing behind him. This included historical footage relevant to leftist violence and political assassinations, recognizing various figures threatened by such actions.

In closing, Milei sang a reworked version of “Tu Vicio,” a song supporting capitalism. He expressed gratitude to the crowd, stating, “You are the future, making the West great.” He humorously requested time to “shower and dress like a president.” Afterward, he returned in a suit for his book presentation dedicated to Charlie Kirk.

“They attempted to assassinate prominent figures including Jair Bolsonaro and Donald Trump, and they recently took our dear Charlie Kirk,” Milei said, reinforcing his support for Kirk’s legacy by highlighting his efforts in education and discussion.
