Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said on Thursday’s Appearance that it is “astonishing” how dysfunctional Congress has become. Breitbart News Dailyexplains how it operates differently than a private sector business.
He called Congress “beyond frustrated.” “In the private sector, an organization has to function in order to survive, right? You need a vision and a mission statement. We need to set real goals. … That’s not what Congress is about,” the senator said.
“This is the most dysfunctional place. It’s amazing how dysfunctional it is. We’re almost halfway through the fiscal year. We haven’t funded it yet, but that’s on both sides,” Johnson said. “You know, [Kevin] While in charge of the House, Mr. McCarthy passed a spending bill to begin putting pressure on the Senate. [Chuck] Schumer certainly wasn’t. ”

Additionally, Johnson said Americans continually complain about the lack of border security and Congress’s unwillingness to address it.
“Look at what happened at the border. The American people want a secure border. …First of all, we did not ask for secret negotiations. There should have been a public debate. But… All we wanted was a coercive mechanism to force Biden to use the powers he has to secure the border,” Johnson said.

“We wish we could have strengthened Mr. Trump’s powers, but Mr. Trump had enough powers to secure the border. Again, it wasn’t that strong. But Biden has the exact same powers. exercised and opened the borders. He has the authority. So we weren’t looking for an immigration bill that would make things worse, but that’s what the secret negotiations gave us. ” and described it as “insane.”
“When the American people are demanding something, when you have a problem against the people on your side, why would you put yourself behind closed doors and try to negotiate something terrible in secret? ? That makes no sense,” he said, blaming the dysfunction on “private sector people like me.”
“It’s very frustrating,” he added.
