Giants Rookie Quarterback Jackson Dart Shines in NFL Debut

Jackson Dart, the rookie quarterback for the Giants, wrapped up his exciting NFL debut on Saturday with a heartwarming exchange with his biggest fans.

The Giants kicked off their preseason by beating the Bills, 34-25, at Orchard Park.

Dart, drafted 25th overall this year, shared a smile with his teammate and fellow quarterback Tommy DeVito, who also played in the preseason opener.

In this game, the 22-year-old Dart entered after a brief stint from starting quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson led a 12-play, 30-yard drive, allowing the Giants to score the first points of the night with a field goal, making it 3-0 in the first quarter.

Feeling the heat, Dart managed to connect with wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey for a 29-yard touchdown pass, extending their lead to 10-0.

“When the pressure comes in, I’m comfortable sitting there,” Dart mentioned. “We knew the opportunity would be there for us – LJ got past the defender, and those are often the biggest plays of the game.”

The action continued into the second half, with veteran backup Jamis Winston taking over for the third quarter and DeVito stepping in for the fourth, both contributing touchdowns.

“There are some positives but a lot that needs fixing,” Coach Brian Daboll remarked after the game.

The Giants are set to refine their strategy before matching up against the Jets in their next preseason game at MetLife Stadium on Saturday.

There’s uncertainty about whether Dart’s family will be in attendance for that game.

His mother, Kara, gained attention back in April when the Giants traded back into the first round to select Dart, making him the second quarterback taken behind the Giants’ own Cam Ward, who went first overall.
