Jaxson Dart scores two touchdowns to end nine-game losing streak for the Giants

Giants Triumph Over Raiders, But at a Cost

Jackson Dart and the New York Giants finally felt the thrill of victory, albeit with some significant consequences. They managed to defeat the Las Vegas Raiders 34-10, but this win meant they forfeited the top overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, which now belongs to the Raiders for their final regular-season game in Week 18.

With this result, the Giants’ record dropped to 3-13 for the season, while the Raiders fell to 2-14.

Entering this matchup, New York held the worst record in the league, and a loss would have guaranteed them the coveted No. 1 pick. However, no team sets out to lose, and the Giants were determined, especially after linebacker Bobby Okereke’s interception halted a threatening Raiders’ drive deep in Giants territory during the first quarter.

Capitalizing on that turnover, the Giants quickly scored their first touchdown with Devin Singletary, who rushed in from just one yard out to give them a 7-0 lead.

Following that, the Raiders managed to put points on the board with a field goal. But Dart, promising as a rookie despite the team’s overall struggles this season, was eager to increase the lead. He rushed for a 12-yard touchdown, marking the first of two rushing touchdowns he achieved in the game.

By halftime, the Giants were comfortably ahead at 17-3, positioning themselves to break a lengthy losing streak.

Although Smith aimed to spark a comeback for the Raiders with a touchdown pass to Tyler Lockett, the subsequent kickoff proved detrimental. Giants rookie cornerback Deonte Banks, who hadn’t yet fully met expectations, had an impressive moment, returning the kickoff a staggering 95 yards for a touchdown, extending the lead to 27-10.

To close out the game, the Giants completed a 15-play, 75-yard drive, with Dart again scurrying into the end zone on a crucial fourth down near the goal line. Meanwhile, Wan’Dale Robinson might not have reached the end zone himself, but he delivered a stellar performance, leading the game with 11 receptions amassing 113 yards.

Now, the Giants still hold a slight chance of reclaiming that No. 1 overall pick, but that necessitates some luck. The Raiders need to win against the Kansas City Chiefs, while the Giants must lose to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 18.
