Jaxson Dart's initial offseason with the Giants introduces an additional new role.

Jackson Dart’s Transition to a Recruiter Role

Looking at Jackson Dart, it’s clear he’s more than just a quarterback. He’s portrayed himself as a runner, a scrambler, and even a young leader. Now, he’s stepping into a new role: recruiter.

During his time at Ole Miss, Dart thrived on convincing players to join the Rebels. Those who witnessed it first-hand in Oxford, Mississippi, say he showed a real talent for it. As he faces a new challenge, Dart is eager to take it on. His aim is to guide free agents considering the Giants.

Is he a good salesman? “I’m the best,” he remarked on Monday, flashing a wide smile.

His rookie season wasn’t without its challenges. Dart juggled numerous responsibilities and did so quite well. He completed 63.7% of his passes, tallying 24 touchdowns—15 through the air and 9 on the ground—in 12 starts. Those are pretty solid stats for a first-year quarterback.

“Honestly, I care more about the win-loss record than individual stats,” Dart shared.

However, the season wasn’t easy for him or the Giants. They ended with a 4-13 record, with Dart starting 4-8 of those games.

“What’s most pressing for me is figuring out how to turn this year’s record around, aiming for playoffs and a solid chance at next year’s NFC Championship,” Dart noted.

Despite being focused and sometimes taking hard hits, Dart maintained a level of physicality that kept him in the game. He did miss two games due to concussion protocols, but he didn’t shy away from the contact.

That being said, he feels the need for a break. Dart plans to spend a few weeks just “decompressing” and making memories with his family and younger brothers. He also has a quarterback coach in California and intends to work with him once he’s ready to get back into it.

“Jackson has improved weekly,” interim head coach Mike Kafka observed. “The ups and downs of the season, particularly for a young player, are expected. But he never lost focus, no matter how tough it got. He viewed every challenge as a chance to grow closer to his goals.”

In the future, when the moment strikes, Dart hopes to leverage his motivational abilities to attract others to the Giants. “Definitely,” he affirmed, “being a quarterback comes with that responsibility, especially if you’re gunning for greatness. I want to be active in every way possible—I just want to win; that’s my ultimate goal.”
