Jay Leno says he does not delve into politics in his comedy

Comedian Jay Leno says he doesn't delve into politics during his performances.

“We live in this time now. I don't even play politics with my actions anymore,” the celebrity said, according to the report. the hill. “The audience is like an orchestra. You're there getting the laughs,” he said. “Then we get into the political stuff.”

“They get mean. They want to hear the joke, whether it's about my boyfriend or my boyfriend,” he explained, according to the newspaper. “They're not thinking about the joke; they're thinking about the meaning of the joke,” he pointed out. “So for me, I just don't do it anymore. I just think it's such a hassle,” he said. “I found [the] Viewers like it that way. “I hope they come to comedy shows to escape politics,” he said.

“I think I completely understand your point. It's nice to hear singers just sing, comedians just funny,” he said, according to The Hill newspaper. “If you're going to go see political comedian Stephen Colbert, that's what you want,” he said. “But a lot of times I just want to hear comedy, and that's what I like,” he said.

The comedian has previously said he has taken politics out of comedy.

“I've completely taken politics out of my act. We don't argue anymore. Before the punch line, they're kind of deciding, 'Is he for my guy or against my guy?' ” he said.said last year, according to Las Vegas Review Journal.

Leno, a car enthusiast and collector, was burned in 2022. He was thrown off his bike in early 2023, fracturing numerous bones.
