Jay-Z criticized the Recording Academy for not awarding Beyoncé the Album of the Year award, even though Beyoncé is the most decorated artist in history.
While accepting the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award for his accomplishments in the music industry, the “Empire State of Mind” hitmaker slammed the Academy for disrespecting his wife.
“I don’t want to embarrass this young woman, but she’s won more Grammys than anyone and she’s never won Album of the Year,” he said from the stage, singing “Halo”. I said while looking at the singer.
“Although it has won the most Grammys, it has never won Album of the Year. [math] It doesn’t work. ”
He also criticized his fellow musicians, admitting that some musicians don’t even deserve to be nominated in certain categories.
“Some people are going to go home tonight and feel like they’ve been robbed. Some people may be getting robbed,” Jay-Z, 54, joked.
“Some of you don’t fall into that category…When I’m nervous, I’ll be honest.”
The Grammy winner further said he hopes the Academy “comes up with the right thing, or at least something close to it.”
Beyoncé, 42, has been nominated for album of the year four times, losing out to Taylor Swift, Adele, Harry Styles and Beck.To this day, she Nominated for Grammy Award in 1988 I won 33 times in total.
