Regina Jackson, who is not just the mother but also the agent and manager of quarterback Jayden Daniels, has been keeping a close watch on him, especially in terms of his interactions on the field.
Recently, during a special Mother’s Day episode of “The Pivot” podcast, Jackson opened up a bit about her son’s dating life and the reasons she feels protective of him.
“The whole ‘girl’ comment came up two years ago when he was at LSU,” she shared with co-hosts Ryan Clark and Fred Taylor, referencing earlier interviews where she expressed concern for her son and his relationships. “That was a question I posed—what’s your biggest fear?”
Jackson pointed out, “Every parent’s biggest fear… whether you’re a man or a woman… is that you’re in the public eye, and your worth is tied to your name. You just don’t know who’s genuinely there for you.”
She continued, “He doesn’t realize what he doesn’t know. He knows football—he’s great at it… but the world of business? Not so much. He can be blissfully unaware of those who might take advantage of his position. So, he feels secure knowing that I’m both educated and his mom.”
Despite her protective instincts, Jackson recognized that her son is eager to experience dating. “I’m supportive of him—he can date and make choices,” she explained. “But, we share a close relationship, and he values my insights. I always put in so much effort for him and my other children, and they recognize that.”
“I worked hard to establish a foundation for him, but I also know I can pull the rug out if necessary. It’s a balancing act. But, he’s 24 and needs to figure things out for himself. He’s a wonderful kid, really. Grateful, and just… growing up,” Jackson added.
As a certified agent with a master’s degree in healthcare management and entrepreneurial business, Jackson is well-equipped to support her son’s career.
She further expressed her desire to be recognized as Regina Jackson, rather than just being labeled as Jayden Daniels’ mother. “I was there for Jayden; he didn’t have me,” she emphasized regarding the NFL Rookie of the Year.
Jackson gained attention recently for appearing alongside Daniels frequently, especially when they were spotted at events together. Some speculated about her involvement when Jayden was seen in Miami at a Formula 1 race with an unknown woman. They also noted her presence in the background at a wedding where he was dancing.
In March, she stirred up some buzz at the NCAA Tournament while sitting between Jayden and a prominent female basketball star.
Jayden himself commented on how attentive his mother is. “Nothing goes unnoticed with my mom,” he mentioned in an interview, highlighting her role in his life.
