Quarterback Jaden Daniels Injured in Loss to Cowboys
During Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders quarterback Jaden Daniels was forced to leave the field due to a hamstring injury in the third quarter.
Fans quickly began drawing comparisons between Daniels and former NFL player Robert Griffin III, noting that Griffin, who had a strong start to his rookie season in 2012, faced persistent injury issues that affected his career.
Daniels’ mother, Regina Jackson, expressed her concerns on social media, urging supporters to stop with the comparisons to Griffin. She stated, “I want my son to stop developing RGIII. Words have power and that’s all the talk is about.”
Daniels was set to undergo an MRI on Monday to evaluate the injury. This marks the second time this season that he has had to deal with an injury, as he also sprained his knee in games three and four.
In the match against the Cowboys, Daniels completed 12 of 22 passes for 156 yards and one touchdown. Despite his efforts, the Cowboys dominated with a 44-22 victory, and injuries remain a significant concern for the team.
Coach Marcus Mariota acknowledged the challenges Daniels has faced, saying, “It’s tough. He’s been fighting all year, and I know it’s going to be very frustrating.”
After Daniels exited, Mariota stepped in but struggled, throwing a pick-six to Cowboys defensive back Daron Brand.
With this loss, Washington’s record stands at 3-4 for the season.
