Jaylen Brown played through a partially torn meniscus for the Celtics.

Jason Tatum wasn’t the only one dealing with injuries on the Celtics.

According to a report from ESPN, Jalen Brown played the season with a partially torn right meniscus.

Brown, who is 28, is expected to undergo evaluation this week to determine if he needs surgery.

Earlier in March, he received an injection for knee pain, which had been reported previously.

While Brown missed the final three regular-season games due to injuries, he returned for the playoffs, putting up averages of 22.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.

Unfortunately for the Celtics, their pursuit of back-to-back NBA championships ended in a loss to the Knicks, 119-81, on Friday.

After the Game 6 defeat, Brown discussed the physical challenges he faced throughout the playoffs.

“I don’t make excuses,” he stated to reporters. “It’s tough to exit like that, but I’m proud of how we finished the year and pushed through the physical struggles I had.”

He also expressed how disappointing it was to be eliminated from the playoffs.

“Losing to the Knicks feels like death,” he reflected. “But I was always taught there’s life after death.”

The Celtics also lost Tatum, 27, in Game 4 to an Achilles injury sustained late in the fourth quarter.

Tatum had surgery in New York the next day and visited his teammates before the elimination game.

“We didn’t talk about basketball at all,” teammate Payton Pritchard shared after their morning shootaround ahead of Game 6. “It was great to see him. He seemed to be doing well. Of course, he’s probably going a bit crazy right now. It’s tough when a teammate goes through something like that.”
