Texans Dominate Ravens in a 44-10 Victory
The Houston Texans delivered a stunning performance against the Baltimore Ravens, winning 44-10 during their away game on Sunday. It was, quite frankly, an overwhelming defeat for the Ravens.
In the fourth quarter, Texans’ Jay Lynn Noel, a third-round draft pick from the 2025 NFL Draft, made his mark by scoring his first career touchdown. He celebrated by imitating a famous dance of a certain Baltimore legend, Ray Lewis, much to the delight of his teammates. However, Ravens cornerback Jay Alexander didn’t seem to share the enthusiasm, attempting to snatch the touchdown ball from Noel.
Following the ensuing scuffle, Noel held onto the ball, while Alexander’s frustration became clear as tensions escalated. The Ravens had already faced challenges, missing key players like quarterback Lamar Jackson and linebacker Roquan Smith. They trailed badly by halftime, with a score of 24-3. Things further deteriorated for them when the third quarter started, as Noel’s touchdown marked the score at 41-10.
- Texans quarterback CJ Stroud connected impressively with receivers Nico Collins and Xavier Hutchinson.
- Stroud managed to revive the Texans’ offense that day.
- The Ravens’ defensive struggles were evident, with them allowing an average of 406.8 yards and 33.3 points per game.
Many had high hopes for the Ravens this season, aiming to contend for the AFC North division title and maybe even a Super Bowl run. Yet, with a 1-4 start over the first five weeks, those aspirations were clearly fading.
Cooper Rush, filling in for Jackson, completed 20 of 34 passes for 179 yards but also threw three interceptions without scoring. Derrick Henry did find the end zone but was limited to only 33 yards on 14 carries.
On the other hand, Stroud threw for 244 yards and four touchdowns, while Nick Chubb led the Texans with 61 rushing yards on 11 carries. He also showcased his ability to connect with eight different teammates throughout the game.
