Jazz Chisholm Jr. has made quite an impression with the Yankees and New York, and WFAN has already reported on the rookie’s home run projections.
The Yankees infielder acquired from the Marlins on Saturday hit home runs in the sixth and seventh innings Tuesday night, including one in the bottom of the seventh that prompted some exciting play-by-play commentary from WFAN play-by-play announcer Ricky Ricciardo as the Bronx Bombers beat the Phillies 7-6 in the 12th inning.
Chisholm gave the Yankees their first run of the game with a fielder’s hit in the first inning, and then a solo home run in the sixth inning put the Yankees within two runs.
Ricky Ricardo provided great play-by-play commentary on this game-winning home run by Yankees’ Jazz Chisholm on WFAN.

One inning later, with Aaron Judge and Juan Soto on base, Chisholm caught an 82 mph slider from left-handed relief pitcher Matt Stram and drove it just inside the foul pole for a game-winning, three-run homer.
“Stram swung at the pitch and hit it deep to the right, and Buck [Nick] “Castellanos is on the wall. Oh, baby, one more!” Ricardo yelled after the ball dropped over the right-field fence. “Adios, amigos!”
Ricciardo then seemed to take a page from John Sterling and come up with a funny catchphrase for the slugger.
“Smooth Jazz does it again with his fourth home run of the series,” Ricardo added. “Jazz Chisholm Jr. is a Bronx bomber from the Bahamas!”
YES Network broadcaster Michael Kay also took the game to a new level of excitement.
“Deep right field hit it. Did I hit it? Did I hit it? Yeah, I did!” Kay said. “Three-run home run, Jazz does it again, Yankees lead 5-4. … Holy crap, what a first impression for Jazz Chisholm Jr.”
With this final home run, Chisholm became the first Yankee player to hit four home runs in his first three games.
After the match, he said he was enjoying the moment.
“This is my purpose in life.” Chisholm said:“I love the lights, I love the big crowds, I love all of that.”
He has 17 home runs this year with the Yankees and Marlins.
