Birth Announcement from Vice President J.D. Vance
Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, have announced the arrival of their fourth child, a baby boy named Alec Neil Vance. They shared the news on Sunday morning through a joint post on Instagram.
“We are thrilled to announce the birth of our baby boy, Alec Neil Vance, this morning,” their message read. They shared that both Usha and the baby are doing well, and their other children are excited to welcome their new brother.
Additionally, the couple expressed gratitude to the medical professionals at Walter Reed Medical Center and the White House Medical Corps for their care during this time. “Congratulations to the dedicated military physicians and staff at Walter Reed Medical Center,” they added. “We are truly grateful for all they’ve done for our family.”
Earlier this year, the Vances had hinted that they were expecting their fourth child. In January, they mentioned, “Usha and the baby are doing well, and we look forward to welcoming her in late July,” although it turned out to be a boy.
J.D. and Usha met while they were both students at Yale Law School and got married in 2014. Alongside Alec, they are parents to sons Ewan and Vivek and daughter Mirabell. Last year, their older children drew attention when they participated in the swearing-in ceremony at the U.S. Capitol, followed by a parade in Washington, D.C.
