Vice President J.D. Vance Attends Women’s Olympic Hockey Match

Vice President J.D. Vance was spotted at the U.S. Women’s Olympic hockey match alongside social media personality and aspiring boxer, Jake Paul.

The two Americans cheered as the women’s national team triumphed over Finland, scoring 5-0 in the qualifying round for the Winter Olympics in Milan on Saturday.

After the first intermission, Vance, along with his wife Usha and their children, arrived at the arena. They were soon joined by Paul, who was there with his fiancée, Dutch speed skater Jutta Lierdam.

Vance appeared cheerful and was engaged in conversation with Paul, who recently faced a setback in his boxing career—sustaining a broken jaw during a fight with former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua last month.

At one point, the two raised their fists in a playful pose with Vance’s children, clearly having fun.

Vance’s youngest daughter, Mirabelle, joined her father in supporting the women’s team, enjoying the easy win.

Interestingly, the Vice President and his wife had faced a frosty reception at the Friday opening ceremony, where they were booed when their faces appeared on the jumbotron at the San Siro soccer stadium.

In the VIP section, they shared space with 2010 Olympic U.S. figure skating champion Evan Lysacek, along with Hockey Hall of Fame members Jocelyn Lamoureux-Davidson and Monique Lamoureux-Morando, who highlighted the U.S. team’s success at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The women’s hockey team had also recently achieved a dominate 9-1 victory against the Czech Republic, marking a solid 2-0 start in the qualifying rounds.

“I love the way it feels. Everybody has a part in winning, right? Whether it’s passing shifts, finding the back of the net, making the right pass, making the right play,” star forward Hilary Knight remarked to NBC News. “It’s a real sense of selflessness that we have in that room, and I’m really proud of what this group has shown up to this point.”
