Senator J.D. Vance, President Trump’s running mate, appeared on “Sunday Morning Futures” on Sunday to address the criticism surrounding his candidacy.
Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo pressed Vance to push back against comments from both sides of the aisle that he may not be the right fit for President Trump.
“A lot of people on the Democratic side and the Republican side are talking about you. You’ve heard the rumors. Some are saying you were the wrong choice to be Trump’s running mate. What are you doing about it?” Bartiromo asked.
“I think the media is going to go after the people who can most effectively get President Trump’s message across to the broadest possible audience,” Vance said. “I’m not surprised that many in the Washington media hate me, but it’s their policies that are the problem. And of course they hate me because we’re trying to fix what they broke.”

“And I think Democrats see all of this as weird,” Bartiromo said. “What do you think about this new strategy from Democrats to accuse you of being weird?”

“Maria, frankly, I think this is a projection from people who want to give 9-year-olds gender-change hormones and allow biological males to play girls’ sports,” Vance said. “I’m a husband and a father, I’m happily married, I love my life, and I’m doing this because I want to be a good public servant who solves problems for the Democratic Party. I don’t care what Democrats call me. I don’t care about some middle school taunt. What bothers me and makes me uncomfortable is what Kamala Harris has done to this country.”

“Kamala Harris has skyrocketed interest rates. And let in millions of illegal immigrants and have them compete with Americans for scarce housing. So I don’t care what they call me, I just wish they’d stop messing with the country,” he added.

Vance also slammed Harris for not being transparent with the press, noting that she has not answered a single question from the press in the 14 days since President Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed her.
