Vance Comments on Trump-Musk Feud
During a conversation with Theo Fong, Vice President JD Vance described the ongoing conflict between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk as a “giant mistake.”
“To start, I firmly believe that Donald Trump did nothing wrong regarding Jeffrey Epstein. All the claims from the Democrats and the media are just nonsense,” Vance stated about the situation.
He continued, “I’m President Trump’s vice president, and my loyalty is to him. As for Elon, I think he’s a remarkable entrepreneur and, well, the whole Doge thing was quite impressive.”
“But it’s harming him, so why pursue this?” Vance pondered in response to the tension.
He pointed out that Musk is facing constant attacks in his business, even having some of his vehicles damaged. “It seems like politics is entangled in all of this somehow,” he remarked.
“I think it’s misguided for anyone to pursue a feud with the president. These blood feuds aren’t just bad for the country; I doubt they’re beneficial for Elon either,” Vance added.
The conflict appeared to escalate when Musk critiqued Trump’s signature on a spending bill, describing it in a post as disgraceful, filled with excessive spending. “I’m embarrassed for those who supported it; they know they were in the wrong,” Musk wrote.
Musk also claimed that the bill would increase debt and possibly lead to a recession due to Trump’s tariffs, criticizing his understanding of the bill after it was revealed that the administration planned to cut back on electric vehicles.
“I’m really disappointed because Elon understood the intricacies of this bill better than most people. He didn’t have a problem with it until it became an issue for him regarding EV mandates,” Trump expressed during a press conference.
The tension peaked when Musk accused Trump of being linked to the Epstein files in a now-deleted post, suggesting that this connection explained why the files weren’t made public.
Vance concluded by expressing hope that Musk would work to reconcile with the administration and smooth things over. “I wish Musk would come back and say, ‘I might have overreacted,’ and try to resolve the situation,” he commented, declaring that ongoing conflict is not in anyone’s best interest.
