Issue: Sen. J.D. Vance facing off against the Harris-Waltz campaign on the runway in Wisconsin.
Immediately after reading the Washington Post cover story about J.D. Vance’s masterful defeat of Vice President Kamala Harris at a Wisconsin airport, I began reading the same story reported by other “mainstream” media outlets (“Vance Attacks Cam,” August 8).
And here were the facts: A national news agency provided photos and copies of J.D. Vance’s campaign jet parked near Air Force Two, but omitted details of the confrontation, leaving uninformed Democrats and Republicans unaware that Ms. Harris had not answered any questions from reporters in weeks, a move that was right in line with President Biden’s playbook.

Vance’s confrontation was the boldest move. Aggressive confrontation is the only way to call out contemptuous leaders who somehow think they don’t have to answer to the people.
Let it be known that walking away and ignoring the questions will no longer work. Perhaps one more embarrassing showdown like this one will bring voting Americans to their senses.

At this stage in the campaign, it’s not surprising that Harris and Gov. Tim Walz have been tolerated by the media.
It seems the media is sabotaging the new candidate to thwart any investigation that could prevent Harris and Walz from winning. What happened to the phrase “Democracy dies in darkness”?

Do Americans want a scripted leader, someone who thinks he’s funny but isn’t? That’s exactly what Kamala Harris is.
As we saw this week, at least JD Vance is open and transparent.

Issue: Rep. Cori Bush, a “Squad” member, lost the Missouri Democratic primary.
As Rep. Cori Bush argues (“Shut Down the Squad, Part II,” August 8), no one from the outside radicalized her.
But if there was ever a left-wing extremist who should be expelled from Congress, Bush fits the bill. She can only blame herself for her loss in the Missouri primary. She is anti-Israel, anti-American, and in some ways pro-Hamas.
Bush’s vote against banning the terrorists responsible for the October 7 attacks on Israel from entering the United States has revealed her true character. Given her extreme ideology, she is a threat to American values. Next up for cut are Reps. Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Behaving the way Cori Bush did in her failed reelection bid is completely disgraceful for an elected official.
It was sad to hear her rant with hatred, blaming herself for all her losses, her anti-Israel stance was loud and clear and people responded.
It’s incredible to think that this represents our country.

Bush was not prepared to look in the mirror and address the source of his failure: politics.
