JD Vance Criticizes Biden’s Ukraine policy and emphasizes trade agreements and DOJ fraud enforcement.

Vice President JD Vance responded to Joe Biden’s recent remarks regarding the infamous meeting with Ukrainian President Voldy Mee Zelensky, labeling Biden’s foreign policy as a “complete disaster.” Vance stated during an interview with Fox News anchor Martha McCallum, “It’s rather rich for Joe Biden to comment on our dealings with Russia and Ukraine. Under his administration, Russia has launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. I wish him the best, but honestly, much of what he’s done has been a complete disaster, so his opinions on American foreign policy don’t really matter to me.”

Biden, in his first interview since leaving office, spoke with the BBC earlier this week, referring to President Donald Trump and Vance’s meeting with Zelensky as involving “under the USA.”

Vance believes Russia’s demands are excessive but sees potential for a “durable peace” in Ukraine

In his discussion with McCallum, Vance reiterated the Trump administration’s commitment to Ukrainian sovereignty while echoing previous thoughts that the U.S. could lessen its role as a primary peace negotiator.

“We certainly want Ukraine to remain independent,” he noted. “We always knew the Russians had exaggerated initial offers, wanting to demand more than they were going to concede. That’s just standard negotiation. I’m not too concerned by that.”

However, he expressed concern regarding the possibility that Russia might not participate in negotiations sincerely. “If we find out the Russians aren’t negotiating in good faith, then we’ll have to reassess our approach,” Vance added.

Although Russia’s ceasefire proposal was recently rebuffed, Vance remained somewhat hopeful about the trajectory of peace talks. “What they’re discussing seems like progress,” he mentioned. “We actually have a concrete peace plan on the table.”

Vance also highlighted efforts to enhance global trade and discussed the administration’s initial tariff agreement. Earlier this year, the Trump administration introduced a 10% tariff on UK imports, alongside additional tariffs on products including steel and vehicles.

“It’s a significant honor to have the UK as our first announcement, bringing together our long-standing history and loyalty,” Trump stated in The Truth Society. “Further deals at a serious negotiation stage should come soon!”

Vance remarked that Britain was chosen for its openness and strong ties with the current government. He acknowledged the challenges of realigning global trade with China, especially given China’s retaliatory tariffs, but emphasized that the administration remains determined.

“It’s about engaging in conversations. We’ll see where that leads,” he noted, underscoring the importance of enhancing positions for American businesses, which he believes is very achievable.

On domestic issues, Vance mentioned ongoing efforts under Doge, despite Elon Musk stepping back from daily involvement.

“Elon hasn’t vanished,” Vance remarked. “No one claimed Doge’s work would only last for 110 days.”

He confirmed that Attorney General Pam Bondy is preparing to pursue a significant fraud investigation, suggesting that several lawsuits could follow. “I know she’s working on building a case against those who committed blatant fraud against Americans. Expect to see some prosecutions emerge in the coming years,” he indicated.

Addressing speculation about any rifts with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vance brushed aside the notion, noting both are viewed as potential successors to Trump. Vance described Rubio as “probably my best friend in the administration,” adding, “We often hang out and have discussions. He does great work, and I strive to do my best as well.”

Yet, Vance did not dismiss his own potential run for the presidency in 2028. “I can see myself making meaningful contributions for the next 1,100 days, and then we’ll see,” he said.
