JD Vance Leads Charlie Kirk Show from the White House

Vice President JD Vance hosted the Charlie Kirk Show live from the White House on Monday, paying tribute to Kirk.

Vance began the show by expressing that he feels “built for those who can’t bury” following the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, during a week marked by political violence.

He recognized the grief that Kirk’s family, the administration, and the nation have endured since Wednesday, realizing that “everyone in this building” owes a debt to Kirk.

Kirk was a passionate advocate for our country. He cherished America and committed himself wholeheartedly to improving our nation. He played a key role in Donald Trump’s election and subsequently in Vance’s own election as vice president; much of their recent success can be attributed to Kirk’s efforts, his support, and his friendship.

Vance regarded Kirk as the most astute political strategist he had encountered, and someone who galvanized young Americans by entering “hostile environments” to discuss ideas.

What resonated with many young Americans last week was that Charlie had their backs when others did not. When they were hesitant to express themselves, fearing backlash from peers, Charlie showed them the power of courage and boldness.

He described Kirk as both a “foreigner” and a “luminary,” underscoring his contributions to shaping Turning Point USA.

He brought people together. He didn’t just instruct them on conversation; he didn’t merely tell them what to say. He wasn’t just encouraging free expression on campuses. He built a social network that an entire generation could rely on. I personally know people who found their spouses or made lifelong friends at TPUSA events. It’s about more than just voicing opinions; it’s about building community, succeeding in elections, and creating support systems in the current political landscape.

An additional service for Kirk will take place on Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
