JD Vance Critiques Democrats Over Sydney Sweeney Ad Controversy
Vice President JD Vance recently commented on the uproar surrounding Sydney Sweeney’s jeans advertisements, suggesting it has exposed the vulnerabilities of the Democratic Party.
Some left-leaning critics labeled American Eagle’s ad campaign as “Nazi propaganda,” while supporters of Sweeney found the accusations laughable. This reaction highlights, perhaps, a disconnect in how the two sides perceive the situation.
Vance mocked the Democrats’ attempts to rally support from men by criticizing those who see Sweeney in such negative terms. “Have you learned nothing from the November 2024 election?” he quipped.
During an episode of the “Ruthless” podcast, he advised Democrats to continue their current strategy, jokingly directing their focus back to accusations against Sweeney. “It reveals something interesting about the Democrats…here you have an all-American girl just trying to sell jeans,” he noted.
Despite the backlash, American Eagle issued a concise statement supporting the ads amid the growing controversy.

“I think one lesson we can all take from this,” Vance continued, “is the strategy of attacking people as Nazis because one of them is beautiful. Great strategy, guys, that’s how you win mid-terms,” he added with a laugh.
The Democratic Party’s substantial election losses may partially result from diverging support from male voters, prompting some on the left to seek new strategies to reconnect with this demographic.
