J.D. Vance Reflects on “The View” Appearance

Vice President J.D. Vance expressed his surprise regarding how women treat guests on “The View.” He made a stop at the show on Tuesday, kicking off his book tour for his spiritual memoir, “Communion: Finding My Back to Faith.”

“I expected them to be really intense, but they were just kind of intense, maybe a little more than I’d anticipated. It wasn’t as tough as I thought it would be,” Vance remarked during an appearance on “Gutfeld!” on Tuesday.

During a break, co-host Joy Behar surprised him with a compliment, saying, “You know what? You’re a pretty good Republican.” Vance was taken aback; he didn’t expect that from her.

However, the visit wasn’t completely smooth for Vance. He joked, “I thought Sunny, who was next to me, would call me a racist. Instead, it was Whoopi on my right who did that. So, I guess I was wrong there.” This exchange likely referred to Whoopi’s critique regarding his comments on historical representation during the Trump administration.

Vance clashed with the panel over various topics, including remarks made by former President Donald Trump related to inflation and immigration.

Earlier, Vance had mentioned to Fox News Digital that he was looking forward to engaging in meaningful discussions with the liberal co-hosts. “I think there’s a bit of optimism in me, but I really believe that most people—if not all—can have a conversation, even when we disagree,” he shared.

He added, “I hope we can find some common ground. I’m somewhat skeptical about it, but we’ll see how it goes.”
